sound experimentation

With each sound I tried to pick out the key aspects I could hear. I then tried to visualise the sounds  in my head without too much thought instead tried to replicate exactly how the sounds made me feel and the visuals I would see in association with those sounds.I tried a variety of different mediums to try and bring across these visualisations. At first I thought about static movements before thinking about how these would be animated.

These two images I was looking at the electric moog slide sound. I wanted to try and capture the oscillating sound and the start up noise.

For the quarrying explosion sound I tried to detach myself from the context behind the sound and more what it sounded like. The whooshing noise at the end gave me a lot of ideas toward the approach.

I thought colouring for the cat sound was really important to emulate the depth of the sound correctly. I tried a few different colour schemes using water colour and inks.

I found sound 48 difficult to visualise because it had a lot of depth and fluctuation within the sound it was very inconsistent. After a lot of consideration I managed to get some ideas down for it however in the end I think it turned out the least successful.
